Brie's Corner

Great heroine, and the mystery that surrounds her is compelling, yet I can't bring myself to finish it, not even to find out her whole story or to see her get a HEA. The books is incredibly boring and the chemistry between the leads nonexistent.It's unfortunate because The Governess Affair was one of my favorite historicals of the year. It makes me wonder if Ms. Milan should stick to writing novellas, because I found her shorter stories more successful.I'm still looking forward to reading the next books in the series (one of which happens to be a novella), but the anticipation comes with certain reservations.
